Why Am I Always Tired and Can’t Switch Off?

Understanding stress, poor sleep, and why your body won’t settle

If you’ve been feeling constantly tired and unable to switch off, there usually comes a point where you realise something isn’t quite right.

You might be managing. Keeping things going. Getting through what you need to do each day. Always tired and can't switch off.

But underneath that, something feels off.

Your sleep isn’t properly restoring you.

Your mind doesn’t fully settle.

Your patience is shorter than it used to be.

And you find yourself wondering: why is this happening?

When Tiredness Isn’t Just About Sleep

Being tired isn’t always about needing more rest.

Often, it’s a sign your system has been under pressure for longer than it can comfortably manage.

This can show up as:

- Waking up already exhausted

- Struggling to switch your mind off at night

- Feeling wired but tired

- Irritability or low patience

- Difficulty concentrating

- A sense of always being slightly on edge

Many of the people I see are used to coping well. They carry a lot, and they carry it quietly.

But even the strongest systems have a limit.

Why You Can’t Fully Switch Off

Your body is designed to move between activity and rest.

But when stress builds over time, whether it’s obvious or more subtle, your system can begin to stay in a more constant state of alert.

At first, this can feel helpful. You stay productive. Focused. In control.

But over time, it becomes harder to come back down from that state.

Sleep becomes lighter or disrupted.

Your mind keeps running, even when you’re exhausted.

Rest doesn’t feel like it used to.

This isn’t something you’re doing wrong.

It’s your system asking for a different kind of support.

When Pushing Through Stops Working

For a while, pushing through can work.

But eventually, there’s a point where it doesn’t.

Where the usual ways of coping stop being enough , and your body starts to signal that something needs attention.

This is often when symptoms like ongoing fatigue, poor sleep, or feeling constantly on edge begin to appear more clearly.

Not as a problem to ignore — but as a message.

A More Individual Way of Looking at Your Health

This is where my approach is a little different.

Rather than focusing on one symptom in isolation, I look at the wider picture, how your energy is affected, how your mind responds under pressure, and what your system is trying to express.

Using homeopathy alongside a broader, holistic view of your health, we work to support your system as a whole.

That means:

- Exploring what’s sitting underneath your symptoms

- Supporting your body’s natural ability to rebalance

- Helping things begin to settle in a more sustainable way

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach here, everything is tailored to you.

What Often Begins to Change

When your system is properly supported, things tend to shift naturally.

People often notice:

- More restorative sleep

- A quieter, less reactive mind

- More consistent energy

- Feeling less on edge

- A clearer sense of themselves again

Not because they’ve forced it, but because the pressure on their system has reduced.

If This Feels Familiar

If this resonates with how you’ve been feeling, this is exactly the kind of work I do.

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

You just need to recognise that something isn’t quite right, and be open to approaching it differently.

Book a Consultation

If you’d like support with this, you’re very welcome to book a consultation.

We’ll take things at your pace, in a way that feels straightforward and grounded.

You don’t have to keep managing this on your own.

Sometimes the turning point isn’t doing more......

it’s recognising when something needs to change, and allowing that shift to begin.
